While permissions specify which cameras, images, and users a user has access to, the user level specifies what things they can do with these cameras and images. There are 5 user levels available, but only 3 of them are intended to be used by customers. Admins and superusers should only be used by a yellow partner internally. Also, superusers are not allowed to create new admin or superuser accountsand you should choose the correct one depending on the tasks the user will have to execute, or the tasks they shouldn’t be allowed to execute.

Here’s a quick rundown of the user levels:

  • admin: Essentially, can do anythingCan do anything to tables, cameras and users they have permission for, and can create new ones. This should not be the default account you log in with to do ordinary work, as wrong actions mistakes may cause damage to your loss of data.

  • superuser: Can do everything an Admin can do, except deleting cameras or tables. They can still delete images inside tables, so mistakes can still damage your data, it’s just a bit more difficultlead to some data loss.

  • poweruser: The poweruser level is intended for any of your customers you wish to give user that requires limited control over the camera and might have to manage a handful of users. They are allowed to delete and/or download images, to change a cameras schedule, capture an image or focus remotely and change feed settings. They cannot create new cameras or feeds. Powerusers have also limited user management abilities. They can create and edit users and guestsmost settings, but are prohibited from deleting or creating tables, feeds and cameras. They do have the ability to create new users, though only of lower levels. This is intended for customers that need to be able to manage third party access to the cameras images. Appart from that, powerusers are also allowed to download images in bulk.

  • user: The default level that most of your users should have. Users can view images and feeds they have permission for and they can trigger a camera remotely. They cannot delete or download any data and cannot see or change any settings.

  • guest: Can view images and feeds they have permission for.
